Games of today are so much different than the games we played as kids. Remember Jacks and Cootie?? So many games now are high tech and are designed for adults as well as children. Take the Wii for example.... when I get together with family, the adults are just as excited to play as the children. Of course we often get our butts kicked by the younger ones but that's okay. That's because of the mega hours they spend playing.... at least that's what I tell myself.
I know some of our teammates play some online games. Facebook is chock full of them. Honestly it's one of the biggest reasons I log on. Some of the games test your brain and some test your dexterity. I haven't played Farmville but it sounds like you grow crops and take care of your animals. I had a friend recently tell me that she felt so bad because her internet connection was down and as a result she couldn't tend to her beets and they died. Oh the pressure.
Recently I've been living in YoVille, another Facebook application. I tell you this because you are my friends and hopefully won't judge me. I know it's crazy nuts to spend time in a virtual world when there is a real world right outside my door. But I get a kick out of sitting at Vinny's Diner and kicking back with a few of my friends, (you know who you are, lol) and having a laugh. Games are now so advanced that this is possible. So here's to the games of our youth and the new high tech games of today that take us inside another world. Enjoy them all but don't forget to sit out on the front step once in a while and get some fresh air. :) And stop by and see me in YoVille. I'll send you a chair.

Chaunce, you are so creative. What a FUN {and Games} post!!! tee hee
Scout says to tell you when Farmville was down the other day her pumpkins rotted.
Tragic, I know.
Thanks for another fabby post.
Enjoyed the post. I need to play games, but just don't seem to take the time. Good luck with Farmville and Yo Ville!
Love the games theme. I joined in on yo ville.
Thanks for including my painting.
This is a terrific blog. I had no idea!
Oh Chauncey...I have yet to get sucked into the Facebook world of games but you make it sound like I really need to. LOL
Great blog post and I'll see you in Yoville.......when I retire.
hehe, this duckie still doesn't quite 'get' all those online games, but then we all know how technically challenged I am... and I always enjoy looking at the BBEST selections that are picked to go with the article. Nice job, Chauncey!! lol, my signin word below is "fruidly" - sounds like a southern version of fruitty!!! Do ya'll have fruit on those farms??
Great post, Chauncey!! I see notifications of FB friends exploits in their gaming, I've just tried to stay out of it. hehe... My Danny is working in a game shop that sells the old type of games that you sit at a table and play with people looking at you and they are doing very well with their shop, so people are playing all kinds of games. Great farm selections!!!
Loved reading this blog - jacks and cooties - what memories! But alas, I have joined the Facebook game world also. You are right that any of us who are on those sites will truly understand your great choices. And now you reminded I have a lot of gardening to tend to, and cows to be milked. My sister just got me into YoVille, haven't quite figured it all out yet, but will see you there.
This blog really made me smile!
Not familiar with those games, but thanks for including my tractor! I can tell they're addictive, so I better stay away...
Thoroughly enjoyed this post. I have explored all of the above and have enjoyed the games. What else would I do with my spare time.
Great feature and awesome items you chose.
Fun post.
Some of my best family memories include playing board games, Tiddlywinks, marbles, jacks, and so on. I do not play online games, but your post certainly evoked some wonderful "real world" memories!
Do you remember playing spilikins?
Used to play Monopoly as kids.
I don't play online games but you've reminded me I'v got real beetroots up the garden that need looking at.
Ah, Cootie! Used to play that with my cousin. Being a guy and 5 years older than me, I will always remeber his kindness in playing with me :)
How fun! Yes, those internet games can be addicting. I recognized the farm themes right away because...ahem...I've had a Facebook farm or two. ;-)
Great post. Thank you for including Penelope! I've only played a few of the word games on FB, but I do hit Scamble almost every day. Can't beat Bethie's score though. I used to enjoy board games when we played them as a family.
